Food Waste Recycling Program

The City of Colton needed more than a campaign. They needed a whole new program identity that could carry across video, print, social media, and the web in both English and Spanish. We built it from the ground up, starting with a character and a brand, and expanding into a full suite of public education materials.

BUILDING A BRAND FROM SCRATCH

Before any animation could start, the program needed a face. We developed the complete brand identity for the City of Colton’s Food Waste Recycling Program, including the program name and logo, color palette, typography, and supporting brand elements. At the center of it all was a custom mascot: a friendly green bin character with enough personality to carry an animated story and make composting feel approachable to everyday residents.

Bringing It to Life

With the brand in place, we wrote, storyboarded, and produced a nearly four-minute animated explainer video introducing the program to Colton residents. The production included original scriptwriting, rough animatics, final animation, music and sound effect selection, and narration. The full video was produced in both English and Spanish to reach the city’s entire community.
